I haven't done a whole lot lately other than read, write, and go to school. I meant to take some more pictures, but I haven't had a chance yet and now it has gotten overcast again. -__-
Last weekend I reread Emma and liked it a great deal better the second time. It probably helped that I read it in less than two days this time instead of drawing it out. Before that I reread Persuasion, and before that Pride and Prejudice again. To break the Austen spree (though I would like to reread Northanger Abbey as well...) I picked up Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy, which is astoundingly mediocre at this point. I'm halfway through, so I hope it gets better by the end. Then again, I suppose you can't expect much considering it is about a young girl and was written by a man in 1891. I'm also working through a volume of Jane Austen's surviving letters, which are highly entertaining. Or the ones to her sister Cassandra are, at least. It is really too bad that so many of them have been censored or destroyed by her family.
I also just got back from seeing Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. I liked it considerably better than Evolution, but not as much as the first one. It was a fairly short movie, so it moved along quickly which is always a plus for me. I was glad to see that the original actors that played Viktor, Lucian, and Kahn were back, and I liked the actress that played Sonja even if it looked like her lips were going to leak collagen at any moment in several scenes. Plus, they made her look enough like Selene that it was plausible that Viktor would have taken to her because of the resemblance.
In other news, my back is killing me. I wish I could just take something for it but the problem is the fact that the discs are wearing down abnormally, so aspirin just doesn’t cut it unfortunately. =/
Also, I have become somewhat addicted to watching this. It’s a webcam located in one of the orca pools at Seaworld San Diego. I used it on my research paper about captive orcas last year, and recently rediscovered it in my links. I became familiar with each of the seven whales while researching, so it’s cool to be able to see them on the webcam. The three in that pool currently are Orkid (adult female), Nakai (young male), and Kalia (youngest female). It changes throughout the day though. You’ll also occasionally see a trainer jump in the water with them and start interacting. You can tell when a trainer is checking up on them because they all flock to the slide out to see if they can con some treats. XD
Anyways, I shall stop rambling now and go curl up in a ball to see if stretching my back out helps at all. Between this and my gallbladder acting up again, the last few days have not been pleasant. >.<
